How To Create More Joy & Connection At Home
Can we as parents create feelings of joy and connection for ourselves and our children? I say a resounding “Yes!”
How? By intentionally making one powerful Parenting Commitment each day. We no longer have to leave our day up to chance instead we can deliberately shape and influence it. Even on the days that are so challenging, we still have the power to take action. We become the creators of our parenting lives.
These commitments are meant to be powerful, playful, and most importantly practical. I don’t know about you, but I crave simple, straightforward ways I can make a difference in my family’s life.
Here are some friendly tips to help you get started:
Choose one commitment for the day or week. You’ll notice many of them have the word “more” in them. Choose something you already do, or you can pick something new. Your choice!
Share your plan with a caring person who will help you stay on track. You’re also welcome to share with me here. I’d love to hear from you and will reply directly to you.
The most important thing is to pick one and practice it during the day or week. Our children and family care about our effort way more than if we get it “right” or “perfect.”
Print out the Parenting Commitments below and put them on your fridge, inside a cabinet you open a lot, or jot them down on a post-it note so you’ll have a handy daily reminder.
My commitment? More belly laughs with my son and husband. I have one full-on guarantee to make them belly laugh. What’s that you ask? Anything that has to do with farting!
